Nigeria Missions CentralThe church of Christ at Gainesville is involved with the work going on in Nigeria, West Africa. John & Dorris Taylor have been traveling to Nigeria for several years. Chad Wagner is now working with this effort to help evangelize Nigeria.
Nigeria Update - May 2008 -- NEW!!! Areas of workMost of the work done is in southwestern Nigeria in the states of Enugu, Cross River, and other states. We take personal journeys over to Nigeria at least once a year to view the work and help alongside native preachers. Church BuildingsWithin the Nigeria work, there are four major areas of work. First, we help Nigerian congregations build church buildings. Many congregations of the Lord’s church meet in schools or under trees. We simply raise money for a concrete floor and tin roof. The congregation in Nigeria pays for the walls and furnish the building. Nigerian PreachersSecond, we help support native Nigeria preachers. This can be done for $50/month which will fully support a preacher and his family. All we ask from the native preachers is that they provide goals for the coming year and quarterly reports of their work. Congregations and/or individuals can support these individuals by sending the support through the Gainesville church. Nigeria Evangelism TripsThird, we take at least one annual trip to Nigeria each year. In 2008, we will be leaving in July for about 2-3 weeks. Please check out the information in the enclosed letter.
